Dr. Darnyl Katzinger is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Georgia. She received her bachelor's degree in criminal justice and psychology from Michigan State University and her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She completed an APA accredited internship at Children's Hospital of Michigan specializing in pediatric psychology and completed her fellowship at Positive Outcomes Psychological Services.
Dr. Katzinger provides play therapy for children, and individual, group, and family therapy with children, adolescents, and families. In addition, she conducts psychological assessments for children and adolescents, including psychoeducational evaluations for documentation of learning disabilities and other conditions that negatively impact learning. Her areas of specialty include the treatment of emotional and behavioral disorders of childhood and adolescence, trauma and childhood sexual abuse, social skills training, behavior modification, family problems, depression, stress management, anger management, school-related issues and adjustment disorders. In addition, Dr. Katzinger has specialized training in working with children and adolescents with a variety of medical disorders on treatment compliance, adjustment, pain management, and associated internalizing problems as well as those with eating disorders.
Dr. Katzinger strives to work with caregivers, teachers, and other important people in a child's life for a comprehensive treatment approach and welcomes clients of various races, backgrounds, beliefs, and lifestyles.
