Gina M. Defalco is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia. She earned her B.S. degree in Psychology from Georgia College & State University in 1992. She spent the next six yrs employed by the Dept. of Family & Children Services and Community Mental Health system while attending graduate school at the University of Georgia, where she earned a Master of Social Work degree in 1998. Upon successfully passing the state of Georgia's Licensed Master of Social Work (L.M.S.W.) exam, she was employed as a Primary Therapist on the Adult Mental Health Unit of Laurelwood Psychiatric Hospital in Gainesville. Eventually, Ms. Defalco accepted the position of Women's Services Coordinator for The Children's Center for Hope & Healing in Hall Co. She then successfully accomplished 3,000 supervision hrs & passed the state of Georgia's examination to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Upon relocating to Athens, she has enjoyed being a member of the Positive Outcomes team. Ms. Defalco specializes in facilitating the remediation of secondary effects associated with childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, significant loss & grief, and discrimination in all its forms. As a professional Social Worker, she is dedicated to maintaining total cultural competency and wholeheartedly welcomes clients of any race, ethnicity, religious creed, or sexual minority status.
