Dr. Amanda Dyer is a licensed psychologist in the state of Georgia who provides individual and group-based services to children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Dyer specializes in research supported treatment of emotional and behavioral disorders such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Additional areas of interest include anger management, peer relationships, parent-child relationships, and self-esteem. Moreover, Dr. Dyer enjoys working directly with parents as a parenting coach, providing empirically supported interventions including Parent Management Training (PMT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

   Dr. Dyer is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) and is well trained in intellectual and academic assessment in order to document learning disabilities and other factors that negatively impact learning. During her graduate career, Dr. Dyer worked in the Clarke County school system as well as a large urban-suburban school district in Houston, Texas. Thus, she is well versed in academic-based recommendations and strategies to improve school performance. Furthermore, she enjoys consulting with parents and teachers regarding the best way to meet the academic needs of children.

   Dr. Dyer earned her Ph.D. from The University of Georgia, where she holds a part-time assistant professor position in the department of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology. She teaches graduate level courses and provides clinical supervision to graduate students conducting assessments in the School Psychology Clinic at UGA. Dr. Dyer is a member of national and local organizations including the American Psychological Association (APA), Georgia Psychological Association (GPA), and Athens Area Psychological Association (AAPA).
