Dr. Richard Bank
Dr. Richard Bank completed his 2000-plus hour postdoctoral training with Harvey Gayer, Ph.D. of Positive Outcomes Psychological Services in Athens, Georgia. He provides individual therapy with children, adolescents, adults, and families. His areas of specialty include the treatment of emotional and behavioral disorders of early childhood, anger management, behavior modification, and adjustment disorders. Dr. Bank also emphasizes the utilization of additional community resources in an effort to provide further support during treatment.
Dr. Bank, originally from Novi, Michigan, obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Rutgers University. He obtained both his Master of Arts degree and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) degree from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology of Argosy University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Bank completed a full time APA accredited internship in clinical psychology at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA).
Dr. Bank has been fortunate enough to gain over 18 years of clinical experience beginning as far back as high school. Over the years, he has worked with many individuals and families, and with a wide range of ages, cultures, and backgrounds. As a psychologist his primary goal is to support the individual or family, and as a team member, offer guidance that could lead to better functioning in many areas of life. Regarding his work with children and families, Dr. Bank emphasizes trying to understand underlying problems in an effort to better solve difficulties. He also promotes a very safe and nonjudgmental atmosphere in order to do clinical work.
